Addiction is a primary healthcare epidemic.

Every family is impacted by addiction at some point in time.  We need to train specialists who can work with these individuals to provide the necessary treatment to help them move into recovery, and access to medications to stabilize their addiction.

According the Missouri Hospital Association, the highest fatal drug-overdoes rates since 2000 happened in St. Louis and Greene counties, and in a “large region from Jefferson County through the lead belt and the Bootheel area.” (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
